Internet portal development is a crucial objective in PWN strategy. Radical change of its visual conception resulted from the wish to approach customers and offer them an interesting content and form of thematic portal that would assist online bookshop sale.

WebStyle Systems has been asked to prepare new online identity of PWN. Project stage was preceded by detailed analyses based on plans, conceptions and requirements imposed by the publisher. As a result the following assumptions have been made:

  • visual layer visual layer that unites tradition and modernity
  • clear web site layout, intuitive navigation
  • good visibility of elements leading to online bookshop
  • small size of HTML/CSS code
  • using the portal through simple text browsers (e.g. Lynx)
  • the product that is easy to maintain and elastic in future development

Based on these assumption a new project of portal has developed and series of templates for various sets of content have been prepared. The official launch date is in September 2003.
